About Us

The Huddersfield Chinese Community Centre (HCCC) is a registered charity established in November 2001. We aim to promote Huddersfield's vibrant Chinese community and we are working towards relieving poverty and sickness, improving education, and providing social and leisure activities – all of which help to improve the quality of life for people in our community.

Although we provide services mainly to the Chinese community, we welcome people from all backgrounds to become members and use the Centre's facilities and join our activities.

Currently we have over 230 members – roughly 70% Cantonese speakers, 20% Mandarin speakers, and 10% English speakers.

We moved into our specially refurbished Centre in December 2003, thanks to help from Huddersfield Pride and with further help from the Lottery we keep the Centre busy with activities, social events and education courses. The Lottery funding also helps us to employ a full-time Centre Manager, Sessional Workers who run different group activities, a part-time Caretaker, and a part-time Cleaner.

With help and support from all volunteers, we're developing very well – although we're always looking for more people to join in and help out.
