English Class for Chinese Adults – Beginners LevelWednesday 10.00 – 12.00 An introduction to English for Chinese adults who do not speak any English. The course is taught in a relaxed, informal environment by a qualified teacher who has experience of teaching in adult education. There is no fixed curriculum, examinations or coursework, but students are occasionally expected to carry out work at home. There is no fixed curriculum, examinations or coursework, but students are occasionally expected to carry out work at home. Textbooks will be provided but students need to bring their own writing materials. Students who wish to enrol on this course must have a basic understanding of English language. English Class for Chinese Adults – Advanced LevelWednesday 10.00 – 12.00 A study group for Chinese adults that aims to enhance their English reading, writing and speaking skills to improve their chances of finding local employment. The course is taught in a relaxed, informal environment by a qualified English teacher who has taught English to Chinese people in Hong Kong. There is no fixed curriculum, examinations or coursework, but students are occasionally expected to carry out work at home. Textbooks will be provided but students need to bring their own writing materials. Although no formal qualifications are awarded at the end of the course, it is designed to meet the needs of students by increasing their confidence in their use of English in academic and professional situations. Students who wish to enrol on this course must have the equivalent of a pre-GCSE level understanding of English language. Fees: £40.00 per term × 3 |
